Attention Riverbend water users:
In consultation with the
Oregon Health Authority Drinking Water Program, we are happy to inform you that
the water in the Riverbend Water System (PWS 41-00601) has been declared safe
to drink again.
To reach this point,
substantial effort and investment have been put into designing and constructing
an underground contact chamber. Additionally, continuous automated monitoring
equipment has been installed that will ensure adequate disinfection is
sufficiently achieved on a continuous basis to meet the interim treatment
requirements instituted by the Oregon Health Authority. This is only the first
step, however. In order to achieve full compliance with the water treatment
laws of Oregon, we are in the process of designing an ultrafiltration surface
water treatment plant that we expect to construct during 2022. The work that
has been completed so far will be integrated into the future surface water
treatment plant.
