RT 17- Illahe  September 12  Scheduled Flushing

Please prepare for interruptions to water service today September 12.  Hiland is in the system flushing the water lines.

WHY FLUSH:

The process of periodically "flushing" water lines is an important preventive maintenance activity.

Although it may appear to waste water, this process is part of a routine maintenance program necessary to maintain the integrity of the water system and allowing us to continue to deliver the highest quality water possible to our customers.

The flushing route is carefully planned, and valves are opened and closed to control the direction of the water flow. Flushing the water system on a routine basis removes sediment from lines and keeps the entire distribution system “refreshed”.

As a result of the line flushing process, residents in the immediate vicinity of the work may experience temporary discoloration of their water. This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and air and does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience discoloration in your water after crews have been flushing in your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your own home by running all water faucets for a minute or two.

RT 24 Riverbend - BOIL WATER NOTICE June 16, 2018

RT 24 Riverbend - BOIL WATER NOTICE June 16, 2018

A BOIL WATER Notice is being issued due to test results received June 16, 2018 showing E. coli that was detected  in the distribution system. Our test samples for our source have come back negative so this appears to only be in the distribution system.

DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING FIRST

Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute and let it cool before using, or use bottled water.  Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

If you are served by Hiland Water in the area below, this notice applies to you.

Hiland Water is working to resolve the issue promptly.
